Bikur Cholim team meeting in London
About Us

Four Decades of Dedicated Support.

Bikur Cholim exists to ensure no one faces illness or disability alone. As the community's needs have grown, so have we, expanding our services to meet every need and continually asking what more we can do to help.

"You've made a huge positive impact on my life. From diagnosis through treatment, I always felt supported and cared for."

Our Story

Since 1979, We've Been There

Bikur Cholim began with a single act of compassion when an elderly holocaust survivor collapsed on the street outside the home of one of our founding members. From those humble beginnings, it has grown into the largest health and social care provider in the community, offering emotional and practical support to hundreds of families.

While our services have expanded, our core values remain unchanged and steadfast.

Our Mission

No One Should Face Illness Alone.

To support those dealing with illness, disability and mental health challenges by providing personalised practical, emotional, and therapeutic support.

Our Vision

Walking the Journey Together.

To remain alongside patients and families on their journey through illness, offering care, support, and reassurance every step of the way.

Core Values

The Heart Behind Everything We Do

Seen, Not Judged

We meet every person with understanding, focusing on support, not circumstances, offering assistance without judgement.

Personalised Care

No two people are the same, and neither is our support. We take the time to understand each situation and tailor the support provided.

Trust at Every Step

All information is handled with the utmost confidentiality and shared only with those directly involved in supporting the case.

Consistent Support

Each case is assigned a dedicated support worker to ensure a consistent, hands-on approach throughout.

"My baby has been in and out of GOSH. For Chanukah we wanted to be home with our other children. Even though our baby was recovering from surgery, the medical team agreed because they know Bikur Cholim volunteers will be there."

— Family S.
